Cady had a friend over for the day

And what an eventful day it was. It was so much fun watching the two girls play together all day. In the beginning there were a couple of tussles, but by the end of the day they were best of friends and so much fun to watch together. The video at the end is priceless. See if you can pick out the naughty words that Cady says!

First we went for a wagon ride

Then we played on the swings
After we got home we helped mommy fill the pool
Then we had a picnic without our clothes because we were all wet!
Then we had to go in and take yukky naps. But after our naps and lunch we went outside to play in the pool. That lasted about 30 seconds and then we both had melt-downs and had to come inside.

And take baths. We both like to drink bath water. We don't really like the bath water that much but we like practicing drinking out of the big girl cups.

And here we are in the bathtub. Pretend you are watching a foreign video with no subtitles, it's more fun that way!

I cannot believe that it has been about two years since I've hiked. It's something that I used to do all the time but haven't done since I got pregnant! Today we met up with Cady's nanny Alicja, her daughter Basia, Basia's boyfriend Peter and their dog Luna. They took us up to Mount Falcon Park which is JUST outside of Denver. It was beautiful. Cady did pretty well in the backpack considering that we hiked not only through her dinner time but also into her bedtime. She did have a snack though since Alicja made some modified Perogies that she brought with. Yum!

You know you are at a festival when...

Your mom lets you get the $1 face-painting!

And your mom and dad buy you a big yellow balloon

And you get to eat a sucker even though you are usually not allowed to have sugar

And your daddy lets you walk with him instead of riding in the stroller

And your mommy lets you help her push the stroller home because you are a big girl now!

Cool-Whip and Puffin Head

Just some pictures since I already blogged once today.

This morning Cady fed herself oatmeal and yogurt. Just when I thought it couldn't get messier, I leave the room for a second and come back and she has a Puffin Cereal stuck to her head as well:

And then I gave her some coolwhip to play with. I used food coloring to make different colors. She stared at it for a good five minutes without once touching it. I thought she was never going to play!

Then she tasted it:

Then painted with it:

And then did a straight head-dive into it. I think she was trying to paint with her forehead.

Cady's Rock Update and Date Night

Here I am examining every dirty diaper for the past few days and apparently I missed it. I'm sure it was in that first dirty diaper that I somehow convinced myself was too soon and didn't examine too thoroughly. Those others though, oh yeah, I examined them well! How do we know that there is no rock? Because Cady woke up with a case of pink-eye in both eyes (courtesy of her good friend Emma). We took her to the pediatric clinic and five hours later (One trip to the Pediatrician, trip to the hospital, a lost order, an MIA radiologist) the x-ray results show that she is rock-free. Nice!

Rob and I had our first night out in months in honor of our Anniversary! And it wasn't just a one hour date which is what our last date was months ago, it was a FIVE HOUR date!! We nearly didn't go because I woke up really sick. Achy all over, swollen glands, stuffy, sore throat and very sore from the car accident. But feeling near death wasn't a good enough excuse to miss finally getting to go out. I know what happens when we postpone. Our last "almost date" was going to be Christmas shopping before Christmas and then the blizzard happened. And now it's June! We were not postponeing!

Cady's nanny came at 4:00 and Rob and I went to a movie. Knocked-up...GREAT MOVIE! We even got the theater early and just sat there and watched all of the opening trivia and commercials. What a luxury! After the movie we sat on a patio and had a portobello mushroom pizza and a bottle of Pinot Noir. It was absolutely beautiful out and we had a chance to finally just hang-out and have uninterrupted conversation. It was really really really nice! The bonus is that we are going to do it again, this week. No more waiting months for us! Rob's Birthday is Thursday and Starin and Lilly are coming over to hang-out with Cady which we know Cady will love! If you are reading this, THANK YOU STARIN!

Car accident and Rock Eating...

Not sure what to tell about first. I'll let Cady tell you about the rock, then I'll tell the story about the car accident we had today.

Hi, it's Cady. I ate a rock. A big rock. A Ripley Rock. My mom and dad have to check my poop everyday and if it doesn't come out I have to go to the Doctor.

And now, my story:
Let me preface by saying my insurance guy was over yesterday and informed me that my insurance coverage never got changed when I bought my new car. He said I had pretty crappy coverage for a new vehicle. I didn't realize that and asked him to email me numbers and premiums today so I could make a decision on what I want. So, as of today I still have crappy coverage...of course!

I ran out with Cady "real quick" to get a new diaper pail before music class. As I was going up Sheridan, the car in front of me decided to do a really quick turn into the apartment complex, no signal, quick brake and turn so I had to jam on my breaks and the car behind me, totally unaware and following too close crashed into us! Hard!

Here's the fun part!

I got out of my car and asked her if she got hit too because there was a car stopped behind her (the car in front of me just kept going). She said she was okay so I suggested getting off the busy street and pulling into the apartment complex. She did. So the car that was behind her pulled in to. It was just a guy that was nice enough to witness it. THAT NEVER HAPPENS, right? He gives me his phone and tells me the police non-emergency number b/c he works at a gas station and happens to know it by heart. As I'm calling the police, this girl starts telling me to hang up so we can talk privately that I cannot call the police. She is pleading with me to get off the phone b/c she has warrants and they'll arrest her. I told her that it was already reported. And that I cannot make a claim without a report and that I'm sorry about her situation, but I'm also not willing to let her leave the scene without the police. She asks me if it's okay to leave and I tell her it's not b/c she would be leaving the scene of an accident and making it worse for herself because the police have already been called. She starts crying and saying that she has a ton of unpaid tickets and some warrants and she's going to be arrested on the spot and it's her brothers birthday tomorrow and on and on. I tell her that she really should stay that it's only going to be worse for her if she leaves the scene of an accident. She hands me her registration and says "I'm sorry, I have to go." The witness guy took down her plate and called the police to tell them she left.

The police show up and do their thing, ask which direction she went and say they'll look for her. So a whole 1/2 hour later (and a sunburned baby) I leave and I swear not even a block up, who pulls out of an apartment complex and gets directly behind me?? I notice her car first because her front end is totally smashed and the hood is all squashed up. It's HER! I see her face in my rear-view mirror and I can see her expression as she realizes who she pulled up behind, OOPS. I turn around and tell the police she is heading North on Sheridan. Later on I saw them checking out the hair places near where I was shopping (I told them she had on a hairdresser apron).

I wish there was some way to thank the guy who stopped. I told him he'll probably have good Karma for life. He stuck around and filled out a witness report. Without him this would be so much more complicated. I love people like that!

Anyhow, whatever, crap happens. I do have to spend a couple of hours across town on Wed. dealing with the adjuster/claims specialist. Fun!! Then I'll have to get my car fixed and replace Cady's seat..more fun!!

So this is the 8th time I've been hit. I don't get it!! This is the first time I've been moving. The other 7 times I was at a complete stand-still, crazy!

If you've read this far, thanks!

Now, a word from Cady.
